Friday Reads: Books That Are Going To Make Epic Films In 2017

As readers, we’re all the type of people to read the book before seeing the film, but we’re also prone to fangirling/fanboying when our favourite titles get adapted onto the big screen. To give you chance to read some of the biggest books being adapted in 2017, here are five releases that are bound to excite you…

1. Lion

This one has already come out. Based on the memoir, A Long Way Home, Lion tells the story of an Indian boy who gets lost and spends over two decades searching for his family.

2. Before I Fall

Lauren Oliver’s hugely successful novel is about a teenage girl reliving the day of her death every day for a week in order to understand why it is happening to her. The film is set to be released this March.

3. The Circle

Emma Watson stars in the adaptation of David Egger’s The Circle, a science-fiction thriller about surveillance and freedom in a high-power computer company.

4. Everything Everything

Perhaps one of the most anticipated films of the year, Everything Everything comes from Nicola Yoon’s novel of the same name. It’s about a teenager named Madeline who can’t go outside because she’ll die, then a boy moves in next door and she’s determined to do whatever it takes to live her life to the full.

5. My Cousin Rachel

From a Daphne Du Maurier classic, My Cousin Rachel is a mystery-romance based in Cornwall.
